UDOT Roads & State Highways
Understanding UDOT’s Role in Ogden Valley City
Some roads within Ogden Valley City are maintained by the State of Utah through the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), not by Ogden Valley City or Weber County.
Roads Maintained by UDOT
UDOT is responsible for maintenance, snow removal, and traffic management on the following state routes within Ogden Valley City:
SR-39
SR-158
SR-167
These routes are considered state highways, and all maintenance decisions, schedules, and closures are managed by UDOT.
Ogden Valley City does not control plowing schedules, road closures, or construction activities on these routes.
Snow Removal & Winter Road Conditions
During winter storms, UDOT crews prioritize state highways to maintain safe travel corridors throughout Utah. Plowing schedules and response times are determined by UDOT based on weather conditions, traffic volume, and safety considerations.
If you are traveling on SR-39, SR-158, or SR-167, road conditions and closures are managed exclusively by UDOT.
Road Closures & Emergency Situations
UDOT may temporarily close state routes due to avalanches, severe weather, accidents, or other safety concerns. These closures are intended to protect public safety and allow emergency or maintenance crews to respond effectively. Ogden Valley City will share updates when available, but closure decisions and reopening timelines are set by UDOT.
Learn MoreReporting a Road Issue
Concerns related to state-maintained roads—including snow removal, debris, signage, or closures—should be reported directly to UDOT.
Reporting issues to the city may delay response, as Ogden Valley City must forward state-road concerns to UDOT.
